Alumni Network

The purpose of BHU Management Alumni Association (BHUMAA) is to foster a continuing and comprehensive relationship between the Faculty and its former students as well as to promote unity and friendship. There are over 3000 alumni who have successfully established themselves in different parts of the globe. This strong community is truly a family, sharing common interests, goals and ideals; thus, living out the Faculty’s mission In order to get together and revive the sweet old memories of their stay in FMS-BHU campus, every year in the month of October a National Meet of BHUMAA is held at Varanasi. Besides, this national meet, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore and Varanasi Chapters are active in organizing such meets regularly at their local level. To share day-to-day reviews and opinions, the Association has come up with an e- group (bhumaaHO@yahoogroups.com) having a handsome number of alumni registered. With a view to encourage the young managers, and also to create a feeling of care, BHUMAA instituted a “BHUMAA Merit Scholarship Awards in year 2004 for best student in both MBA and MIBA Programs. The award carries a Certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 10,000/. Now the number of scholarships gets multiplied and during Alumni Meet 2008, a total of Rs. 70000/- were awarded to meritorious students. From 2005 onward, the FMS, BHU & BHUMAA have also instituted “Distinguished alumni award” to be awarded to those alumni who have been doing excellent work in their respective field. BHUMAA feels proud for their excellent achievements

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION

a) To promote and foster interaction amongst the Alumni, and the Faculty of Management Studies, Banaras Hindu University.
b) To associate the Alumni in the developmental activities of the Faculty of Management Studies.
c) To institute and organize scholarships and funds to help the needy and deserving students of Faculty of Management Studies.
d) To institute prizes and awards for outstanding project works, research papers or other professional activities by the teachers, alumni & the students of the Faculty and to suitably recognize outstanding social and community services rendered by them.
e) To create CHAIRS in the Faculty of Management Studies for promoting research and development.
f) To further strengthen the linkages between the Faculty and the external world.
g) To create a Trust for promoting objectives of the Association.
h) To undertake all such other activities as are conducive to the attainment of the above objectives and/or beneficial to the interests of the Faculty of Management Studies and its Alumni.
